It took four shots in my jaw to numb my mouth enough to proceed with the drilling in a somewhat pain-free fashion. I'm against shots and would prefer to have drills be squeel-free. Unfortunately my dreams did NOT come true whilst in the chair yesterday. Ouch. And shit - I need to go back 2 more times in the next week to finish up. A grand total of EIGHT cavities. My mouth has betrayed me.
I feel like it's more comfortable to have multiple people snoooping around my ladyparts then staring in my gaping mouth with their fingers and instruments clanging around. There's nowhere comfortable to look except the insides of my eyelids. So that's what I did.
At least the power didn't go out right as the numbing set in. That happened once during the summer between high school and college. I had 3 cavities in three different quadrants of my mouth so received three shots to numb me up. Just as the anesthesia kicked in, the lights went out. They had me wait around for a half-hour to see if the power wouldn't come back on. It didn't. So we set another appointment as I drooled all over myself. I set off in my Pontiac Perissiane to say good-bye to two friends that were leaving for Israel the next day(having opted to defer college for a year to work on a kibbutzim). I slobbered all over them, sped to 7-11 to get a slurpee, stained my shirt as it dripped out of my unable-to-close lips, and went home to pout.
